Dr. Deshanie Rai

Dr. Deshanie Rai is the Vice President of OmniActive Health Technologies, a supplier of clinically proven active ingredients for supplements and functional foods. Dr. Rai is an accomplished scientist who has worked with several companies in the food and nutrition industries. Much of her research has focused on understanding the impact of nutrients, bioactives, enzymes, pro- and prebiotics on gut health, and she has co-authored several patents and peer-review articles on this topic.

She has been the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the ‘Young Investigator Award’ from the American Society for Clinical Nutrition and the Bayer Healthcare ‘Applause Award’. She is a two-time recipient of Mead Johnson’s ‘President Award’. She is co-chair of the Women in Science Affinity, HBO Metro Chapter, and is on the leadership team of the Vitamin & Mineral Research Interest Group within the American Society of Nutrition.
